About New Sweden Evangelical Lutheran Church

Located approximately 5 miles northeast of Manor off of Farm to Market Road 973, New Sweden Evangelical Lutheran Church is a well-known Central Texas landmark surrounded by farmland. The 104 foot copper spire can be seen for miles across the countryside.

The New Sweden congregation has deep roots. It was organized on February 23, 1876 by Swedish immigrants and the Rev. J.O. Cavallin. The congregation continues to celebrate its rich heritage as it transitions into the 21st century.

Conveniently located 20 miles northeast of Austin and nestled among Pflugerville, Taylor, and Elgin, New Sweden offers the opportunity to share Christ's love in action through the community, music, and the spoken Word. We invite you to join us!
